The Belgian breeding company Rattlerow Seghers has signed a deal to step up pig production in Ukraine, Dutch agricultural newspaper Agrarisch Dagblad reports.

In January 2009, the Belgian company shipped the first batch of 192 breeding sows to the Ukrainian pig farm Elita.

According to the Belgian breeder, based in the city of Lokeren, this was the first ever shipment of pigs from the low countries to Ukraine. “Agircultural services in both countries closely worked together to make this happen.”
