Ukraine’s pig numbers up 11%

Altogether 8.1 million head could be found, the state statistics committee reported this week.

 

At the moment about 200 new pig farms are being constructed in Ukraine, so the number of pigs is expected to increase by 2 million in the course of the year.

In the last couple of years a number of investors entered the Ukrainian pork market. Considerable amounts of money has been invested in upgrading the existing facilities and creating new ones.
