North Carolina is the US’ number #2 state when it comes down to pig production. In the 4th episode of the Real P3 podcast series, James Lamb explains what it takes for swine producers to comply with the state’s environmental regulations.
The Real P3 podcast series is a recent initiative, where pork producers from all over the world will be interviewed about challenges and solutions in their day-to-day work.
In this 4th episode of the podcast series, Dr Casey Bradley talks to environmental specialist James Lamb, who is based in North Carolina, United States. He divides his time between a role with Prestage Farms and being a contract nursery grower (with a very special co-worker on his farm!).
Lamb works on environmental compliance for all Prestage facilities in North Carolina. Prestage Farms is a multi-state operating farming company, active in pork and turkey production and also processing plants. The company has locations in Iowa, Mississippi, the Carolinas and Oklahoma. As swine production is more heavily regulated than turkey production, that’s where Lamb spends most of his time to.
In the previous weeks, Pig Progress published earlier episodes of the Real P3 Podcast Series:
• the prologue of the pocast series;
• Episode 1: Mihaela Angheluta, Denmark;
• Episode 2: Christine Snowden, Ohio, United States;
• Episode 3: Johan Odendall, Zimbabwe.
