Pig Progress celebrates its WeChat launch in China

China, one of the world’s largest countries, and the highest populated, is a land all about scale. The way in which the country’s 1.4 billion inhabitants connect is through the social media platform, WeChat. Pig Progress is now also engaging with this large audience by launching a WeChat channel through its Chinese-language sister title, ???? (World of Animal Husbandry).

China is a country of rich agricultural heritage and prides itself as having a leading position in the production of many commodities such as cereals, cotton, fruit, vegetables, meat, poultry, eggs and fishery products. In recent years, the country has expanded its agricultural output through closer ties to other countries that also have strong agricultural backgrounds. Connecting and sharing of agricultural knowledge is exactly what the 世界畜牧 WeChat channel aims to do.

Access to high quality industry knowledge

世界畜牧 takes the most up-to-date research and analysis from Proagrica’s global publications of All About Feed, Pig Progress, Dairy Global and Poultry World and makes it accessible to the Chinese agricultural sector.

Already in its 5th year of publication, 世界畜牧 is a well-established brand in China with dedicated magazines for pigs and poultry. The magazines include in-depth knowledge on technical advances from across the globe that could be of interest to the Chinese market.

Knowledge is a driving force

With technology now forming the base for fast and efficient knowledge transfer, particularly in China, the WeChat channel offers translated article content related to the needs in China and short bursts of information relevant to the market.

The WeChat channel celebrated a soft launch during the CAHE expo in Chongqing in May and is now enjoying a steady growth of followers. Chinese (mandarin) readers are invited to follow the WeChat channel by scanning the QR code below.
