Public perception not to be confused with welfare
Sow welfare is not an issue for Europe alone. It generates considerable interest internationally. In a recent Australian review of welfare aspects in relation to the housing of gestating sows, one of the conclusions is that, on balance, it would appear that both individual and group housing could meet welfare requirements.
