Prof Hans-Wilhelm Windhorst Professor

Prof Hans-Wilhelm Windhorst has written about developments in the German pig industry for Pig Progress, emeritus professor Dr Hans-Wilhelm Windhorst (1944) and has a well-known and widely respected reputation in the world of international agriculture. He has been scientific director of the Science and Information Centre for Sustainable Poultry Production (WING) since October 1, 2012. Prior to that he was professor for Applied Economic Geography and Comparative Structural Research at the University of Vechta, Germany. His entire academic career revolved around (intensive) agriculture and food; from 1990 to 2009, for instance, he was director of the Institute for Spatial Analysis and Planning in Areas of Intensive Agriculture, related to the University of Vechta. He is also a statistical analyst of the International Egg Commission and a member of the board of directors of the German branch of the World Poultry Association.
